REC Joins the United Nations Global Compact for Sustainable Business Practices
Launched in 2000, the UN Global Compact is the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative, boasting over 15,000 companies and 3,800 non-business signatories from more than 160 countries. REC’s decision to join this initiative underscores our dedication to making a positive impact on the planet and its inhabitants through a robust Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy.
In line with our dedication to being responsible, REC has consistently blended high-efficiency solar products with eco-friendly manufacturing practices since its establishment over 25 years ago. Our longstanding practices align perfectly with the ten principles of the United Nations Global Compact, reflecting why REC is considered the most trusted name in solar.
By joining the UN Global Compact, REC is demonstrating its commitment to upholding the principles of human rights, fair labor practices, environmental sustainability, and anti-corruption measures. This decision further reinforces our dedication to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations.
In line with our mission to empower people with clean solar energy and deliver positive outcomes for everyone, REC has been transparently and holistically reporting on its ESG efforts and results for many years. We publish an annual ESG report in line with the ISO 26000 guidelines. Our key focus on ESG is particularly geared towards delivering high-efficiency solar panels with strong longevity to best mitigate emissions, ethical sourcing, and continuously driving energy, water, and waste savings programs to reduce our own environmental footprint.
