REC Group proves technology leadership at Smart Energy Conference in Sydney

REC Group, the largest European brand for solar photovoltaic (PV) panels, will demonstrate for the third time its leading technology at the Smart Energy Conference and Exhibition in Sydney, Australia from April 2-3, 2019.

Thanks to award-winning product innovations and long-standing customer relationships with distributors and installers, REC Group is continuously increasing its footprint in Australia, a key market for REC for many years. Between 2016 and 2018, REC doubled its shipments to Australia. In 2018, the company saw an upsurge of REC-certified installers in the country to a total of 260. “REC Group is fully committed to keep on accelerating its presence in Australia by bringing our ‘best of the best’ products to the market,” reassures John Kim, Vice President APAC at REC Group.

At the networking lounge of the Smart Energy Expo, REC Group is showcasing its newest product innovations:

  • REC N-Peak – up to 330 Wp in a 60-cell format, the world’s first solar panel combining half-cut n-type mono cells in a twin panel design and one of the very few panels certified by the renown Australian James Cook University to withstand wind speeds of up to 328 km/h, surpassing even the requirements of cyclonic region D in Australia; in production since September 2018
  • REC N-Peak Black – up to 325 Wp in a 60-cell format, full black with stylish aesthetics and spectacular performance; in production since March 2019
  • REC TwinPeak 2 Mono – up to 320 Wp in a 60-cell format, based on REC’s award-winning TwinPeak technology; in production since December 2018
  • REC TwinPeak 2S Mono 72 – up to 380 Wp in a 72-cell format; in production since December 2018

With its full-black variant of the REC N-Peak, the brand has just launched its fourth innovation since September. REC Group is well known for its innovations during its 23-year history. Indeed in 2014, REC Group was the first tier 1 manufacturer to introduce half-cut cells with backside passivation for mass production. And more excitement is coming: for Intersolar Europe in May 2019, REC has already announced the next game-changing innovation, opening up a big power gap between REC and other tier 1 manufacturers.

“REC Group’s solar panels are widely recognized for their unique product offering worldwide,” confirms Durmus Yildiz, Managing Director at BayWa r.e. Solar Systems.

Brad Oldfield, National Supply Chain Manager at Sol Distribution adds: “REC is known for its strength throughout the entire value chain. This allows them to bring products to the market that Sol Distribution believes exceed international quality standards, which is highly appreciated by our Australian customers.”

Fully in line with REC’s leading high-quality solar panels, where out of 10,000 manufactured only one panel may return as a warranty claim, REC Group will also present the brand’s new industry-topping warranties: REC has doubled the product warranty duration from 10 to 20 years and reduced the annual power degradation of the panel over the 25-year performance warranty. REC Solar Professional installers benefit exclusively from offering an extra 5-year product warranty.

On April 2, 2019 at 5:30 pm, Smart Energy visitors will also have the opportunity to get firsthand insights from REC’s Head of Australia, Paul Scerri, who will be on stage to present REC’s exciting line up of products and solutions and discuss key trends driving the industry.
